I Developed ZymaDerm™ For My Own Child
As a physician with 21 years of clinical practice treating children with molluscum, I didn’t want to traumatize kids (and their mothers) with beetle juice or curettage.
Nor did I feel that referring them to a dermatologist so that they, rather than I, could traumatize them was a proper solution.
When my own five-year-old daughter got molluscum, I was not only a doctor treating a patient, but a very concerned parent.
I decided to invest the time and use my prior research career experience in molecular biology at Yale University to find a better way to treat molluscum contagiosum.
Anti-Virals To Treat Molluscum
There were some very intriguing studies that showed the anti-viral effects of certain essential oils. What they all had in common was terpene oxides.
After years of experimenting with a variety of formulations, I arrived at ZymaDerm™ for molluscum, a combination of tea tree oil and organically bound iodine.
It was extraordinarily effective with most treated patients.
We received two patents and manufactured it as a topical, now called ZymaDerm™.
By 2013 over 500,000 patients were successfully treated with ZymaDerm™
Drug store chains, major online merchants and wholesalers selected it to treat molluscum contagiosum.
Recent Study Shows 85% Effectiveness
We published our second study in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology in 2012.
It showed that 85% of children treated with our formulation clear their molluscum within 30 days.
Another independent followup study by Boise State University reported that 86% of 346 physicians who received samples of ZymaDerm™ recommend it as their preferred treatment.
